Bleeding and Nutrition
separator
In any surgery there is the risk of bleeding. To try to minimize the risk, it is important not to take any medications prescription and over the counter that can affect bleeding properties. This includes aspirin, Advil, Aleve, Ibuprofen, Coumadin, Plauvix, any supplements that begins with the letter G, Fish Oil. Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is all right. Ask if there are any questions.

After surgery we encourage nutrition. We recommend high calorie supplements. The average adult needs 2000 calories a day.

There is no such thing as minor surgery: rest at home is important. You will be told for how long, this depends on the type of surgery and what has to be done during surgery. Ask if there are any questions.
